Before installing a hand basin or wash basin, confirm the basin size, wall or countertop support, drainage position and tap hole arrangement. A correct layout keeps the basin comfortable to use and helps avoid leaks after installation.
For most bathroom projects, the basin should be positioned at a comfortable height with enough side clearance for daily hand washing and cleaning. Check that the waste outlet, bottle trap and water supply can connect neatly without forcing the pipework.
After installation, seal the basin carefully, test the tap and waste connection, and leave the area dry before regular use. For renovation or replacement work, it is always better to confirm measurements with your installer before purchasing.
